Operation 10-8

Operation 10-8 honors the work of first-responders through public recognition and education.  Operation 10-8 is dedicated to the brave men, women, and animals serving in public-safety who tirelessly work to build relationships with communities to keep them safe, but receive little recognition or gratitude for it.

Operation 10-8 is committed to honoring the men and women under those uniforms for choosing a life of service.  Operation 10-8 will work to strengthen the relationship between public-safety and the general public by showing that first-responders are just ordinary people who do extraordinary things to serve others. They also have a private FB group called Survive & Thrive focusing on motivating first responders to be mentally & physically fit!

All topics on this show pertain to the life of a Sheepdog and how to deal with its difficulties. This show is a resource for the thin blue line family. It is a truth speaking, swearing and blunt show! Consider yourself warned.

Have you ever looked at your console and said, “That’s it, I’m done?” Or turned to your partner and noticed they were struggling and you didn’t know what to do or say to help them? You’re not alone. And that’s one of the driving forces behind this book. To let all dispatchers and call-takers know you’re not alone. There is help—in many forms. As you journey through these pages, you will meet several people who have been touched by the 9-1-1 dispatch profession. Some of these people are, or have been, dispatchers themselves. Some are therapists, scientists, and even medical doctors.

The Upside of Stress

You hear it all the time: stress causes heart disease; stress causes insomnia; stress is bad for you! But what if changing how you think about stress could make you happier, healthier, and better able to reach your goals? Combining exciting new research on resilience and mindset, Kelly McGonigal, PhD, proves that undergoing stress is not bad for you; it is undergoing stress while believing that stress is bad for you that makes it harmful. In fact, stress has many benefits, from giving us greater focus and energy, to strengthening our personal relationships.
